For the past three years, free meals have been provided to all inpatients (in need) at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion during the Lunar New Year. This simple gift reflects the concern of the Institute's leadership and the spirit of sharing from benefactors with patients who cannot reunite with their families during the early days of the new year.
During the Year of the Pig – 2019, from the 30th of the lunar December to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, it is expected that the Institute will serve 03 free meals daily for about 250 patients. The warm meals with balanced and safe nutrition delivered to patients every day are the efforts of the staff of the Nutrition Department – National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. The staff of the Nutrition Department have fewer days off during Tet. With a limited number of staff on duty, from early morning, the kitchen is busy preparing so that patients have a full and timely meal as usual.
These are simple meals but still rich in the culinary flavors of Tet. Patients sit together during the early days of spring, not with lavish feasts but with warm, sincere feelings. New Year's wishes for health and peace are exchanged over these meals, connecting strangers to become "family members." The Tet atmosphere in the hospital thus becomes less lonely and homesick.
To provide meals during Tet, the Social Work Department – National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion has made efforts to call for support from individuals, charitable organizations, and Medcomtech is honored to contribute to this meaningful activity.
