On August 22, 2018, Medcomtech Joint Stock Company was honored to organize a Scientific Seminar at the Intensive Care Department – Postal Hospital with the participation of Dr. Trần Hùng Mạnh – Head of Department and MSc. Dr. Dương Vương Trung – Deputy Head of Intensive Care Department, along with many department leaders and leading doctors at the hospital. At the seminar, the doctors discussed coagulation disorders in clinical practice, and especially the practical application of the ROTEM® Delta blood clot elasticity analyzer.
Accompanying the seminar was MSc. Dr. Vũ Tưởng Lân – A9 Department – Bạch Mai Hospital.
At the beginning of the seminar, MSc. Vũ Tưởng Lân presented a summary of the ROTEM machine, orientation of ROTEM indications in some typical cases such as: severe bleeding, emergency, hypercoagulability, and especially the application of ROTEM in obstetrics.
Following that, MSc. Vũ Tưởng Lân presented the practical application of ROTEM in some specific clinical cases occurring at Bạch Mai Hospital: thanks to ROTEM, successful hemostasis was achieved for a postpartum hemorrhage patient, cirrhosis (ROTEM determines whether the patient is eligible for intervention, correctly and sufficiently transfuses blood products to the patient during intervention), treatment protocols for cardiac surgery patients, patients using extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
Concluding the seminar and through actual treatment results at many leading hospitals nationwide, ROTEM® Delta is increasingly proving its effectiveness in diagnosis and treatment, helping to enhance treatment efficiency and bring benefits to patients, thereby gaining more trust from medical staff.
