From November 25 – 27, 2021, the 20th Youth Science and Technology Conference in the Health Sector took place in Hanoi. The beneficial scientific programs included a scientific seminar with the theme “Youth in the Health Sector in the Movement Against the Covid-19 Pandemic”; notably with 315 scientific reports and technical videos from researchers, scientists, and young doctors from 39 units nationwide, along with 26 scientific reports and technical videos in English, bringing high-quality scientific products to the Conference.
On the afternoon of November 27, 2021, the closing ceremony and award presentation of the 20th Youth Science and Technology Conference in the Health Sector took place at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The Jury selected and awarded Excellent prizes to 26 projects; First prizes to 29 projects; Second prizes to 58 projects; Third prizes to 58 projects and 139 Encouragement prizes. The organizing committee also selected 6 best reports in English for commendation. The total prize value was over 740 million VND.
Among them, two reports from Cho Ray Hospital were “Survey on the Predictive Value of ROTEM Testing System in Patients with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura” (Presenter: Dr. Nguyen Huu Tuan, Hematology Department, Cho Ray Hospital) and “Evaluation of the Role of ROTEM Coagulation Testing in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Patients Using Extracorporeal Circulation at Cho Ray Hospital” (Presenter: Dr. Truong Pham Hong Diem, Hematology Department, Cho Ray Hospital) which respectively won Third Prize and Encouragement Prize at the conference.
Present in Vietnam since 2014, the ROTEM testing system distributed by Medcomtech Joint Stock Company has been widely applied in many specialties such as cardiology, intensive care, anesthesiology, emergency, hepatobiliary, gastroenterology... at leading hospitals across the country like Bach Mai, Viet Duc, Cho Ray, University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCM... contributing to improving and enhancing treatment quality and saving many patients at high risk of mortality.
